Aims of the association:

  • representing, both nationally and internationally, the interests of workers in the roads and bridges sector;
  • promoting and defending the professional interests of its members, regardless of administrative autonomy;
  • adopting, implementing and monitoring compliance with the Code of Ethics for road and bridge engineers, through the Council of Honour;
  • developing cooperation through analysis and debate of issues concerning roads, road transportation, traffic safety and environmental protection;
  • promoting a modern and unitary organisation for the roads sector;
  • informing and providing continuous professional development of its members.

Association's objectives:

  • to organize technical committees which correspond to those of the World Road Association (PIARC);
  • to organize technical committees which correspond to those of the World Road Association (PIARC);
  • to contribute to the technical and economical development of its activities;
  • to support research and development, both scientific and technical, of the road system;
  • to support the constitution of specialist bodies (experts, inspectors, etc.) and to protect their interests in accordance with specific regulations;
  • to cooperate with governmental institutions, social and economic organisations and other professional bodies;
  • to associate or affiliate, as appropriate, with similar national and international bodies;
  • to organise congresses, conferences and symposia to exchange experience on professional issues;
  • to participate in similar technical events at home and abroad;
  • to promote the image of A.P.D.P. under any form at home and abroad;
  • to establish the National Register of Engineers for Roads and Bridges in Romania, to manage their records and publish annually the National Register of Engineers for Roads and Bridges in the Official Gazette of Romania;
  • to provide professional protection of its members through a "Council of Honour";
  • to support and verify training, including specialist work, of its members through appropriate forms of higher and specialised education;
  • to promote and support innovation;
  • to propose and participate in the development of instructions, standards, technical directives and regulatory laws specific to this sector;
  • to promote environmental protection measures for the roads and bridges sector;
  • to create technical databases.
